About

Men have always been captivated by the lustre, the beautiful colours and the alluring transparency of glass. When warm, glass is a viscid, soft material, enabling the formation of almost any shape, and giving it the apperance of solidified liquid after cooling. It can be stretched, twisted, pinched and pressed - creating distinctive and interesting patterns whose aspect varies from different visual angles due to the refraction of light and the translucency of the glass.

About

The ferocity with which a storm wave explodes against an ancient but ever receding sea cliff.
Myriad sparkling streams slowly exposing the skeletons of the mountains and joining to carve the valleys to the sea.
Christine's paintings are created in much the same way as water creates our landscape,
with its intricate patterns and textures, shared at every level, from mountain ranges to a pebble on a beach.

About

Trained at Grays School of Art, Aberdeen Christine has exhibited as an invited at the RSA and SSA.
Selected Exhibitions include VAS and the Red Door Edinburgh; Oxo Tower, London; Engender - National Touring Exhibition; Assitalia, London/Birmingham. She was also awarded the John Kinross Scholarship to Florence. Christine now lives in South West Scotland.
